Photographs from Manhasset reports

Round attic exhaust fan mounted in a gable vent; report label reads Thermostatically controlled fan in left side gable vent.
Thermostatically operated attic fan in the left side gable vent. On the same page the report notes recessed lighting needs fireproof covers to stop the flow of cold air from the attic in winter.
Crawl space corner with fibreglass insulation above a concrete wall; a red line and arrow mark the wood sill plate.
Wood sill plate in the crawl space at the right rear corner has termite damage; a screwdriver easily penetrates the damaged wood.
Sided chimney chase rising through a roof beside a deck, red lines marking the cricket and a label reading wood trim dry-rotting at corners.
Chimney cricket is too small and water is rotting out the wood trim on the chimney. Lou recommends a new cricket extending past the sides of the chimney, with evaluation and repair by a licensed roof contractor.

All three photographs are from Lou's own Manhasset inspection reports, chosen because they show a building component and nothing that identifies a property or an owner.
